The story behind the butter.
Hey there, welcome to The Body Sugar Company! So, it’s really just a one woman show – and I’m the woman, Atiya. This running a skincare business thing… well it started because I was on a serious mission for some self-confidence and self-care.
My journey to feeling confident in my own skin was taken quite literal when I started upgrading my skincare routine – not just for my face but for my entire body. I purchased product after product, and while I found some favorites, nothing really excited me enough to keep a consistent routine. And those big-box brand brands? They just didn’t cut it. They felt watered down, loaded with stuff I couldn’t even pronounce, and even if I found a scent I liked, it disappeared before I could truly enjoy it. And when I finally did find a product that left my skin soft, smooth and moisturized – the scents were a huge letdown.
So then I took my hopes, dreams, and dollars to Etsy. And I found the exact products I was looking for: simple, effective, and fragrant. But then those Etsy orders started to add up, and I started getting my own ideas on how I could make the same products, but even better. So, being the DIY enthusiast I am, I took matters into my own hands and started mixing up my own creams, and body butters.
And voilà, The Body Sugar Company was born!
